How to Wire a Winch Switch [ Rocker Switch ]
Before Installation
- Turn off the ignition of the car. Find the toggle switch and the red, yellow, and green wires that are attached to it. Verify that the toggle switch does not operate the winch and that no electricity is supplied.
- Disconnect the winch clutch.
- To get easier access to the installation site, open the bonnet or cowling as needed.
- Remove one of the spade connections from the yellow and green wires provided. Spade connections are not required since wire splices will be utilized.
Installing The Rocker Switch
- Place the Tube Clamp-on bars in an accessible position.
- Capscrew, locknut, flat gasket, and shake-proof washer are used to secure the Rocker Switch housing to the Tube Clamp. Tighten firmly.
- Put the Green, Red, and Yellow cables through the switching housing’s rear.
- Place the Gasket over the Rocker Switch.
- Attach the yellow cable to the Rocker Switch’s top connector and attach the wire to the Rocker switch’s center terminal. Attach the green cable to the Rocker switch’s bottom wire.
- Insert three wires into the cord: green, yellow, and red. Slide the loom straight into the back of the switch housing.
- Break the switch and its housing together.
- Connect the wires from the Rocker Switch to the handlebars. To ensure enough clearance, completely turn the handlebars to the right and left.
- Attach the yellow, green, and red cables from the rocker toggle to the corresponding cable attached to the toggle switch.
- Pull the place clip over itself snap closed after inserting a yellow wire from the toggle and a yellow cable from the Rocker Switch into the cable splice. Reverse the process for the green and red wires.

Before Installation
- Turn off the ignition of the car. Find the toggle switch and the crimson, yellow, and green wires that are attached to it. Confirm that the toggle switch does not operate the winch and that no electricity is supplied.
- Disconnect the winch clutch.
- To get easier access to the installation site, open the hood or cowling as needed.
- Remove one of the spade connections from the yellow and green cables provided. Spade connections are not required since wire splices will be utilized.
Installing The Toggle Switch
- Place the Tube Clamp-on handlebars in an accessible position.
- Capscrew, locknut, flat gasket, and shake-proof washer are used to secure the Toggle Switch housing to the Tube Clamp. Tighten firmly.
- Put the Green, Red, and Yellow cables through the button housing’s rear.
- Place the Gasket over the Toggle Switch.
- Connect the yellow wire to the Toggle Switch’s top terminal and connect the red wire to the Toggle switch’s center terminal. Attach the green wire to the Toggle switch’s top terminal.
- Insert three wires into the cord: green, yellow, and red. Slide up the loom to the rear of the switch housing.
- Clasp the switch and its housing together.
- Toggle Switch wires should be routed down the handlebars. To ensure enough clearance, completely turn the handlebars to the conservative and liberal.
- Make a connection to the toggle and match the yellow, green, and red cables from the toggle to the wires attached to the toggle.
- Curl the place clip over itself snap closed after inserting a yellow wire from the toggle switch and a yellow cable into the wire splicing. Reverse the process for the green and red wires.
Finishing Installation
- Ascertain that the winch clutch is not engaged.
- With the ignition switch turned off, press the toggle to the “OUT” position—the wrench should not work. Double-check the yellow, green, and red wire connections if the winch works with the ignition turned off.
- Hand-spool a few feet of cable. Turn on the winch clutch.
- Turn on the engine and press the toggle to “OUT”—the winch should spin the cable out.
- Inspect the wiring and validate continuity between the three windings from the toggle switch and the matching wires at the wiring harness attached to the transmitter if the winch does not function with the ignition turned on.
- Make sure that cables are not stretched taut over any surfaces that might do them harm.
